2. The network of contacts of our partners and those of our prestigious scientific advisory board extend to the captains of the largest biotech companies in the world, as well as most of the leading research institutes and scientists, and we are continuously building upon this network.
3. We are well linked to other leading healthcare venture capital firms, for no one venture firm brings all the attributes that a growing company needs.
4. We provide the attention and level of commitment necessary to insure our portfolio companies have the resources required for a high level of success.
Our collaborations with leading research institutes are bolstered by a special extra commitment to life sciences research. The founder of GBP Capital, David Wetherell, has established a foundation that is the sole recipient of a majority of his portion of the profits from GBP Capital's investments. In turn, a healthy portion of this money is earmarked to cycle back to the collaborative institutions that have worked with GBP Capital's portfolio companies.
Most of the monies that cycle back to these institutions can be used without restriction, provided that it is oriented in life sciences research. The remaining amount of this portion is earmarked for further collaborations with GBP Capital's portfolio companies. In this way, collaborative institutions have an additional exceptional benefit to work with GBP Capital's portfolio companies over the long term. |
